HIGH-PRESSURE WATER JET CUTTING
TECHNOLOGY

In the frame of the tender BAROSS_EM07-EM_ITN1_07-2008-0011 supported by the NATIONAL RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY OFFICE a DINATRONIC® 403 high pressure pump was purchased and put into operation on the location of MICRO EUROPE LTD, thus creating the research and development basis for high pressure water jet techology.

High strength, solid, brittle and tough materials, non-metallic materials (leather, textile, fibrous plastics, plastic foams, cartoons, paper, ect.) can be cut by high pressure water jet technology precisely.

Cutting the stone for fireplaces

The thickness of the material is 45 mm, the surface is smooth, no after-processing is needed, it’s free from crackings.

 


 

Trial cutting of the same material
The width of the cutting is 0,5 mm, the surface is even and it is free from burr.

 

 

Cutting steel test piece
The thickness of the testpiece is 10 and 16 mm, the width of the cutting is 0,2 mm.
There is no deformation as there is no heat effect  and no mechanical stress. This is the reason why this technology is particularly suitable for drilling and processing thick glass.
